AI Art Academy는 AI 이미지 생성을 활용하여 자신만의 작업 세계를 구축해 나가는 과정입니다.

공개 강의가 아닙니다.
강사와 수강생의 관계도 아닙니다.
신뢰할 수 있는 동료들과 함께 작업하고, 서로의 시선을 날카롭게 만들어가는 자리입니다.

운영자(Avocado)는 강사나 감독이 아닌 facilitator로서 함께합니다.
필요에 따라 대학 교수, 현직 작가, 갤러리스트, 큐레이터, 마케팅 전문가를 게스트 멘토로 초청합니다.

우리가 향하는 곳

이 과정은 한 분기로 끝나지 않습니다.
최소 2년, 필요하다면 그 이상을 함께 걸어가며 각자의 작가적 방향을 날카롭게 다듬어 갑니다.

장기적으로 함께 향하는 목표입니다.
모든 참여자가 동시에 도달해야 하는 것이 아니라, 각자의 속도로 각자의 방식으로 나아갑니다.

• 해외 전시 (개인전 또는 단체전)

• 포토북 출판

• 논문 또는 비평 에세이 출판

이 목표를 facilitator가 대신 이루어주는 것이 아닙니다.
각 참여자가 스스로 작업하고, 스스로 도달합니다.
AI 이론, 철학, 기술이 필요하면 함께 채워갑니다.

2026년 2분기 모임 개요

• 기간: 2026년 5월 ~ 6월 (2개월)

• 인원: 소수 (인원 제한 없음. 신청자가 있으면 운영하고, 없으면 이번 분기는 쉽니다.)

• 형태: 신청서 + 면접 선발 / facilitator 직접 초대 병행

• 모임: 격주 (대면 또는 Zoom, 자율적으로 조율)

• 필수 참여: 기획서 발표, 중간 발표, 최종 발표 (대면 또는 Zoom)

• 참여비: 대관료 + 식사비 (참여 인원 균등 분배)

• 언어: 한국어 기본 / 영어 강의 가능 / 외국인 참여 환영

참여 방법

두 가지 경로가 있습니다.

경로 1 — 공개 신청: 아래 참여신청서를 작성하여 제출
경로 2 — 직접 초대: facilitator가 직접 연락드립니다

초대를 받으신 분도 신청서는 간단히 작성해 주시길 부탁드립니다.
서로를 이해하는 출발점이 됩니다.

이런 분을 찾습니다

• 자신의 이야기를 이미지로 풀어내고 싶은 분

• 기술보다 시선, 결과물보다 과정에 관심이 있는 분

• 함께하는 사람들과 솔직하게 작업을 나눌 수 있는 분

• AI 이미지 생성 경험이 있으면 좋지만, 필수는 아닙니다

모집 일정

• 신청서 접수: 2026년 4월 20일까지

• 면접: 개별 일정 조율 (Zoom 가능)

• 첫 모임: 2026년 4월 24일 또는 5월 1일

방향에 대하여

8. 이 과정은 장기적으로 해외 전시, 포토북 출판, 논문 출판 등을 향해 나아갑니다. 최소 2년, 상황에 따라 더 걸릴 수 있습니다. 이 방향에 대해 어떻게 느끼시나요? 특히 관심 있는 것이 있다면?

포트폴리오

• 본인의 작업물 5~10점을 제출해 주세요.

• AI 생성 이미지, 사진, 혼합 작업 모두 가능합니다.

• 각 이미지에 간단한 설명(한두 줄)을 붙여주시면 좋습니다.

• 완성도보다 본인의 시선이 드러나는 작업을 선택해 주세요.

• 포트폴리오가 없으시면, 본인이 가장 좋아하는 이미지 3장과 그 이유를 적어주셔도 됩니다.

면접 안내

면접은 선발이기도 하지만, 지원자 역시 이 과정이 본인에게 맞는지 확인하는 자리입니다.

• 형태: 1:1 대면 또는 Zoom (약 30분)

• 면접 초반에 facilitator가 다음을 공유합니다:

  • 이 과정에서 제공할 수 있는 것 (이론 강의, 프롬프트 코칭, 학술 글쓰기 지도, 1:1 멘토링, 국제 공모전 리서치, 게스트 멘토 초청)

  • 이 과정에서 제공하지 않는 것 (전시 대행, 포토북 대신 만들어주기, 기술만 가르치기)

  • 2년 로드맵 요약

지원자도 궁금한 점을 자유롭게 질문해 주세요.

운영 원칙

이 과정은 다음의 원칙 위에 서 있습니다.

1. 신뢰: 한 약속은 지킵니다. 어려우면 미리 이야기합니다. 신뢰가 없으면 함께할 수 없습니다.

2. 정직: 작업에 대해, 감정에 대해, 서로에게 솔직합니다.

3. 존중: 다른 사람의 작업과 시간을 소중히 여깁니다.

4. 자율: 각자의 속도와 방향을 존중합니다. 강요하지 않습니다.

5. 경계: 이 공간의 내용은 외부에 공유하지 않습니다.

참여 확정 후

• 소통 채널: 비공개 카카오톡 그룹 (초대제)

• 작업 공유: 비공개 전용 공간 (추후 안내)

• 모임 주기: 격주 (대면/Zoom 자율 조율)

• 필수 일정: 기획서 발표 → 중간 발표 → 최종 발표

• 게스트 멘토: 필요에 따라 대학 교수, 현직 작가, 갤러리스트, 큐레이터, 마케팅 전문가 초청

AI Art Academy는 기술을 가르치는 곳이 아니라, 함께 보고, 함께 걸어가는 자리입니다.

AI Art Academy — Looking for Fellow Travelers

Open Call

AI Art Academy is a long-term, trust-based creative group for artists working with AI image generation.

This is not a course. There is no instructor-student hierarchy.
We are a small group of peers who sharpen each other's vision through honest exchange and shared practice.

The facilitator (Avocado) — a molecular geneticist turned photographer and AI art educator — works alongside participants, not above them. Guest mentors (university professors, practicing artists, gallerists, curators, marketing professionals) are invited as needed.

Where We're Heading

This is not a one-quarter program. We walk together for a minimum of two years — longer if the work calls for it.

Each participant moves at their own pace, toward their own destination. The long-term horizons we share:

• International exhibition (solo or group)

• Photobook publication

• Academic paper or critical essay publication

The facilitator does not achieve these for you.
You do the work.
You reach the destination.
When you need theory, philosophy, or technical support, we build it together.

Q2 2026 Overview

• Period: May – June 2026 (2 months)

• Size: Small group (no fixed cap — if people apply, we run; if not, we wait)

• Entry: Application + interview / direct invitation by facilitator

• Meetings: Biweekly (in-person in Seoul or via Zoom)

• Required milestones: Project proposal presentation, mid-term presentation, final presentation

• Cost: Venue rental + meal costs, split equally among participants

• Language: Korean (primary) / English available / international participants welcome

Path 2 — Direct invitation: The facilitator reaches out to you directly.

Invited participants are also asked to complete a brief application — it helps us understand each other from the start.

• Artists who want to tell their own story through images

• People who value perspective over technique, process over output

• Those who can share and receive honest feedback

• People who hold trust and consistency as core values

• AI image generation experience is welcome but not required

Who This May Not Be For

• Those seeking only technical skill acquisition

• Those uncomfortable with giving or receiving critical feedback on personal work

• Those unable to participate in the three required presentations (in-person or Zoom)

Portfolio

• Please submit 5–10 pieces of your work.

• AI-generated images, photographs, or mixed media — all welcome.

• Include a brief note (one or two sentences) for each piece.

• Choose work that shows your perspective, not just your skill.

• If you don't have a portfolio yet, share 3 images you love and explain why.

About the Interview

The interview is a two-way conversation — for you to learn about this process as much as for us to learn about you.

• Format: 1:1, in-person or Zoom (approximately 30 minutes)

• At the start, the facilitator will share:

  • What this process offers (theory, prompt coaching, academic writing guidance, 1:1 mentoring, international competition research, guest mentors)

  • What this process does not offer (exhibition management on your behalf, making your photobook for you, technical training only)

  • A summary of the 2-year roadmap

Operating Principles

This process stands on five principles:

1. Trust: We keep our promises. When something is difficult, we say so. Without trust, we cannot work together.

2. Honesty: We are truthful about our work, our feelings, and with each other.

3. Respect: We value each other's work and time.

4. Autonomy: Each person's pace and direction are respected. Nothing is forced.

5. Boundaries: What happens in this space stays in this space.

After Selection

• Work sharing: Dedicated private space (details after selection)

• Meeting schedule: Biweekly (in-person / Zoom, flexibly arranged)

• Required milestones: Project proposal → Mid-term → Final presentation

• Guest mentors: University professors, practicing artists, gallerists, curators, and marketing professionals invited as needed

• Cost: Venue + meal costs split equally

• If you need to leave mid-process: Please let us know in advance. No reasons required.

• The facilitator reserves the right to discontinue a participant's involvement if necessary.

AI Art Academy is not a place to learn technique. It is a place to walk together, and to see together.
